The “Lietuva“ Chocolate Collection Awarded a Gold Medal!

On 13 December, the 27th annual Lithuanian Product of the Year Awards, organised by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, were presented in Vilnius. Among the best was the “Lietuva“ chocolate collection (825 g), which was awarded a gold medal!

It is one of the most impressive products from the “Rūta“ confectionery factory, with 27 expressive flavours across 72 handmade chocolates and two booklets: one about Lithuania’s forests and their importance, the other with photographs of the chocolates and the names of the fillings, so that the buyer can easily pick and enjoy them.

The most important mission of the “Lietuva“ collection is to contribute to reforestation and the reduction of CO2 emissions in Lithuania. In cooperation with the National Untouchable Forest Support Foundation, we plant 1 tree for every chocolate collection purchased. Almost 6,000 trees have been planted since the launch of the product!

The goal of the Foundation is to plant 3 million trees by 2050, about one for every Lithuanian. The Foundation is also committed to protecting the forests: the money raised is used to plant trees on land owned by the Foundation, so they cannot be cut down for commercial purposes. In the spring of 2023, we planted and will continue to plant trees in an intact forest with the money raised.

The “Lietuva“ chocolate collection is like a journey through Lithuania, through its forests and its various scenic landscapes, which are reflected in the texture of the packaging and in the chocolates with different fillings. They are like the nature of Lithuania: every detail is distinctive and unique.

This collection is designed to represent our country. This year, it received an international award: two gold stars in the “Superior Taste Award”.
